Armenian fashion designer, Anush Semerjyan, was born in Armenia in 1985 but moved to Los Angeles at the age of five, where she is still based today. After graduating from The Art Institute in 2008, Anush started her clothing line ANUSH DESiGNS. She uses her artistic talents to produce a line of mostly t-shirt designs. The graphic work on her clothing pieces is both trendy and Armenian-inspired. She has an interesting painting and drawing background which she has incorporated into her love of clothing and design and is a unique designer who adds her touch of art and culture to each piece.
Anush had a keen interest in sketching as a young girl which led her parents to send her to an Armenian art class, but she soon started doing her own drawings at home too.
She had a fascination with drawing human figures and enrolled at the Art Instruction Schools (AIS) in Minnesota, where she developed fundamental skills. She realized that her high school diploma would be vital for her in future.
She soon became motivated to gain a high school diploma and also submitted her artwork to various contests as a teen. She won numerous awards for her art, including the Bank of America Award in Art and was an Annual Finalist Award in a contest which took place at AIS.
In 2004 she completed her studies at AIS where she earned a Certificate in Fundamentals of Art. While at AIS, Anush was also attending high school. During her school years, she developed further artistic talent. She designed the logo of her senior class and also learned a lot of techniques including oil painting, acrylic, gouache, and charcoal.

Upon her completion of high school, Anush signed up for classes at the Art Institute where she began her studies in fashion design. Her work far exceeded that of her fellow students. So much so that she earned the position of lab instructor for classes in fashion illustration, drawing, construction, and Photoshop.
During her studies at the Institute, she won an award at one of the talent contests for an exquisite portrait which she painted of herself and two of her siblings. Another of her portraits - that of an eight-year-old boy, featured at the Artifice Gallery Show.
Anush combined her love for drawing and illustration into a single piece of work, as she published a book for the first time. She started off sketching male figures and then added sets of fashionable clothing sketches, masculine poses, drapery, and color using Adobe Photoshop. In 2007, at the age of twenty-one, her book Male Men was published and hit the racks of local bookstores.
