Looking for friendship first...
I am an educated, athletic, kind, patient, funny (not-intentionally), intellectual, physically active person who enjoys gardening, house projects, keeping things simple, managing my finances, and enjoying the beauty of what life has to offer, be it a nice hike in the woods, a classical music concert, or a collegiate men's hockey game. I am pretty well rounded, and feel just as comfortable all dressed up as I do in work clothes with a hammer in my hand. I am looking for friendship first, and if a relationship develops from that, great, and if not, then I am lucky to have found another friend. Do you believe in love at first sight?
I suppose it could happen, but it's never happened to me. My deepest relationships have evolved over time.
How many kids would you like to have?
0-2. Probably not biological. Open to step-children.
How important is someone's physical appearance to you?
Important, but not everything. One should take care of themselves.
If you could have one super power, what would it be and why?
End wars. Stop the hate.
What is the purpose of marriage?
Tax deduction. lol. I know it has nothing to do with God, because atheist people get married. I know it has nothing to do with love, because people love each other deeply without being married. I know it has nothing to do with having children, because people have children without being married all the time, or they get married and have no intention of having children. So... tax deduction is the purpose of marriage as I see it.
What is the most important lesson that you've learned?
Live honorably. Eat healthily, exercise. Live/travel/expand your horizons... You only have one body and one life. Don't forget to live.
What gets on your nerves?
People who don't make up their mind... ever... and hence they never move past a problem.
What is the most important thing in a relationship?
In no particular order, trust, teamwork, communication, understanding, honesty, and compassion.
What's the best age to get married?
No magical age, but somewhere between 24-84. :)
What turns you off?
People who are self-centered, who try to take advantage of other people in order to improve their ranking, etc. People who lie.
What turns you on?
Generosity, kindness, rationality, laughter and love of life.
What do you hope to be doing five years from now?
