Looking for something different on the breakfast table for a change? A wholesome and tasty meal, best served in the morning, is Armenian Harissa. It's like a national treasure to us in a way, and this "special porridge" of ours is delicious but very filling, that's why it's great to have in the morning before you start your day.
It takes only fifteen minutes of preparation time but needs to cook for six hours. The chicken should cook until it's falling to pieces so that it blends in beautifully with the rich porridge.
This recipe is for one serving. You can, of course, adjust it according to the number of servings you intend to make.
Ingredients:
0.008g of salt
0.02kg of butter
0.2kg chicken breasts
0.07 kg of wheat grits
Once you have all the ingredients ready, follow these simple instructions.
Firstly, pour 600g of water into a large saucepan and add the wheat grits and chicken meat. Now, simmer on low heat until your wheat grits and chicken meat are soft. Cooking should take six hours. Make sure that the Harissa is smooth before you turn off the heat. Once you've got it to a smooth constituency, it is ready to serve.
Serve your Armenian Harissa in a bowl, and add some butter on top, this will just add to the lovely, rich flavor. You can also keep it in a dish in the fridge to be served the following morning, as you can simply heat it up again. It's perfect for winter!
