[caption id="attachment_1599" align="alignleft" width="240"]Ekran Alıntısı Mikael Sharafyan[/caption] The arts have always played a part in the life of Armenian fashion designer, Mikael Sharafyan, being the son of the artist, Levon Sharafyan, and Ruzan Muradyan, a pianist. There was always plenty to inspire him and has led him to become a successful fashion designer, now based in the US. Mikael's early years definitely did influence his creativity, as his mom would often take him along to the theater where she worked as a concertmaster in the ballet. He was so inspired by everything going on around him and would often ask her to take him backstage to have a look at all the costumes. Mikael would then try to recreate the designs by sketching them on paper. His talent for design was quickly noticed at a young age. Nowadays, Mikael designs costumes for movies, operas, and ballets. Although he doesn't create his own range, he has worked closely with many celebrities to design their outfits for different movie scenes. He puts so much passion into his work, and may consider designing a fashion line in future, but for now, he is putting his efforts into his designs for the movie and theatrical industry, as that is where his heart lies, and he loves what he does. He gathers his inspiration from exhibitions, which he says always inspire him. Each year he buys annual passes to operas and theaters and attends events at movie production institutions and the Philharmonic Orchestra, to name a few. Hopefully, there will be more worthwhile offers for him in future. Mikael has seen how the fashion industry in Armenia is growing, and although there isn't much opportunity there for him, he would be more than happy to contribute to Armenian fashion should the opportunity arise. The future looks promising, and he is set for some interesting projects in time to come, as he continues his design career.
